God Takes Care of His Flowers
From Your Loving Daughter
You remind me of a sunflower
Standing tall with your head held high,
Whenever life seems to get you down
You never stop reaching for the sky.
When the rains of life are pouring down,
When you bend beneath the weight of the wind,
When life knocks you down you get back up
Again and again and again.
I’ve never seen you without a loving smile,
You always have a smile on your face,
I sometimes wonder why you smile all the time,
It must be because of God’s amazing grace.
I know you’re going through a lot right now
But don’t give up no matter what you’re feeling,
Keep the faith and keep trusting in God because
Hope comes before the healing.
You have touched so many lives with your kindness,
You’ve touched them with your gentle loving touch,
I know that you know you are loved,
You just don’t know how much.
When the winds blow don’t you know
It carries your seeds of love through the air,
And the world is blessed to finally realize
That there’s someone who really cares.
Life hasn’t always been easy
But all the pain that you’ve been feeling
Can’t compare to the joy of knowing
Your healing is surely coming.
So when you’re weak you can lean on me,
We’ll be strong together,
And when the storms of life come your way,
I’ll help you to stand strong in the stormy weather.
I love you with my whole heart
And I know that God will make a way for you,
There’s no need to worry and there’s no need to cry
God loves you and I do too.
By Aretha Abrams
I was living my life like a caterpillar,
Snuggly tucked away in my cocoon.
I'd filled it with so many things
That crowed me into a dimly lit little room.
Self-consciousness and shyness
Came in and took up a lot of space,
I was stuck inside my own little prison,
Too shy to show the world my own face.
For like Sarah and Hannah in the Bible
I was barren for a little while,
But then God miraculously blessed me
With a sweet and wonderful child.
As I looked around the room
I could feel something within me start to change,
It was a feeling that I had never felt before,
It felt wonderfully strange.
As I stood there thinking about my mother,
Who filled me with all her love,
And taught me how to love others
With an agape kind of love,
The fragile cocoon started to crack,
And the darkness gave way to the light,
As I moved toward the opening
The sun was shining exceptionally bright.
It was at that moment I had to decide
Would I let the real me show,
I stood there trying to decide
Whether to stay or whether I should go.
I will spread my wings and show the world
Each spot on my beautifully colored wings,
For I have been fearfully and wonderfully made
By the hands of my Savior, Lord and King.
I stepped out on faith and my wings took flight,
Let everyone stop and stare,
I’m ready to experience the thrill of life
And let the wind blow through my hair.
Who knows where my wings will take me
But I’m ready to explore,
It’s time for me to spread my wings
And experience the fullness of His joy!
